The Paris Court of Appeal will give its decision, on May 15, 2018, concerning former Budget Minister Jerome Cahuzac. French prosecutors asked on February 20, 2018 a court to uphold the three-year, tax-fraud sentence of a former Socialist budget minister who stashed hundreds of thousands of euros in a Swiss bank account. Parigi (Francia), 15 mag. (LaPresse/AFP) – L’ex ministro francese del Bilancio Jérôme Cahuzac, che aveva conti nascosti all’estero, è stato condannato oggi dalla Corte d’appello di Parigi a quattro anni di carcere, due dei quali sospesi, per frode fiscale e riciclaggio di denaro.
Dovrebbe riuscire a evitare la detenzione, dal momento che le pene detentive fino a due anni possono essere in genere convertite. Cinque anni dopo lo scoppio dello scandalo più clamoroso dei cinque anni di presidenza di François Hollande, l’ex paladino della lotta contro l’evasione fiscale si è anche visto infliggere una multa di 300mila euro e cinque anni di ineleggibilità.
